007 Quantum Teleportation

Simulator

Move the state of one coin onto another with a linked pair and two ordinary bits. Press the glowing button, one step at a time.

Simulator running in your browser. Real hardware: coming soon (planned provider: IBM Quantum).

What's happening?

Quantum teleportation simulator: send the state of one qubit to another using a linked pair and two ordinary bits, one step at a time, and see that nothing travels faster than light. Simulator only.

You will learn: Entanglement, measurement and classical communication working together.

The circuit

Three qubits: A holds the message, B stays with Alice and C goes to Bob. The steps are: make a Bell pair on B and C (Spin the coin on B, then Link B to C); Link A to B; Spin the coin on A; look at A and B; then Bob applies a fix to C that depends on the two results: Flip it over (X gate) if B was Tails, and Shift the spin (Z gate) if A was Tails. After that, C is in the state A started with. The circuit follows the standard textbook form.

What you are seeing

The two spheres show coin A (the message) and coin C (Bob's coin). After the looks, C is one of four possible states. Only the fix picked by the two bits turns it into the message. Because the bits are random, you will see different fixes on different runs, and the final match is always 100 percent.

Two common mistakes

Nothing material moves either: the coin C was already with Bob. Only the state is transferred. Read Quantum Teleportation Explained for the longer story and The No-Cloning Theorem Explained for why a copy is impossible.

Run on real hardware: coming soon. The planned provider is IBM Quantum. It is not connected yet. Every result on this page comes from a simulator running in your browser, not from a quantum computer.

How it works: the simulator keeps the exact quantum state of the qubits as a list of complex numbers, applies each gate to it, and draws random samples from the resulting probabilities. The random numbers are ordinary pseudo random numbers from your browser, and a real device would add noise. No QNT, wallet or account is needed.
