What to Expect at the APS Global Physics Summit 2027

What the event is and who goes

The Global Physics Summit is the American Physical Society's large annual research meeting. It combines the former APS March and April meetings, and it is where many condensed matter and quantum hardware groups present results, often before a paper is out. The APS event page listed by search results gives April 11 to 16, 2027 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. Some APS exhibitor and sponsor pages give April 12 to 16, perhaps because exhibit activity starts a day later, but we could not confirm that, so check summit.aps.org. We could not load the APS page directly (it returned an access error), so these dates come from search summaries of aps.org pages. A call for abstracts was reported to run from September 9 to October 22, 2026.

What the previous edition was

The 2026 summit was held in Denver in March 2026. Physics World previewed it as expecting at least 14,000 attendees, with 23 satellite events in Africa, Asia and South America that ran in person and online. We did not find a reliable report of specific quantum announcements made at the 2026 summit, so we do not list any. Vendor pages listed scheduled talks, for example on cryogenic chips for quantum computing, but scheduled talks are not results.

Things to watch for this time (not predictions)

With thousands of talks, most results will be small and incremental. A few get picked up by the press.

How to follow along

The 2026 edition offered an online component and satellite events, per Physics World, but we have no confirmation of the 2027 format, so check the summit site. The searchable online program usually appears ahead of the meeting. Follow Physics World, Physics Today and APS press releases. Talks are short, often ten to twenty minutes, so abstracts are the best early guide. See also the calendar.

Source checking tip

A talk abstract is a plan, not a finding. Presentations at large meetings are not peer reviewed. When a company says it showed a result at APS, ask for the paper or preprint, and check whether the claim in the press release matches what the abstract said. Also check the date: meeting pages get updated, and mirror sites copy old versions.

A note on markets: conference weeks are loud, and quantum stocks and coins can swing on headlines. This guide does not predict that any event will move any price, and it is not financial advice. QNT is a community memecoin on Solana with no link to Quantinuum Ltd or to any organizer named here. It carries high risk and can go to zero. Use events to learn, not to trade on hype (why valuations swing on news).

Frequently asked questions

What are the dates of the APS Global Physics Summit 2027?

APS's event page is reported to list April 11 to 16, 2027 in Atlanta, while some exhibitor pages say April 12 to 16. Confirm on summit.aps.org.

Is it only about quantum?

No. It covers all of physics, and quantum information is one part of a much larger program.

Will it move QNT?

There is no link between the summit and QNT, and nobody can predict price moves from it. QNT is an independent memecoin. This is not financial advice.
