004 Quantum Puzzles
SimulatorMake your grid of 100 runs look like the target grid. Fewer gates, more stars.
Simulator running in your browser. Real hardware: coming soon (planned provider: IBM Quantum).
What's happening?
Ten quantum circuit puzzles: match the target probability chart using as few gates as you can, and earn stars for hitting par. Progress is saved on your device. Simulator only.
You will learn: Designing quantum circuits to hit a target distribution.
How the puzzles work
Each level shows a target grid: what 100 runs of the circuit should look like. Build a circuit until your own grid of 100 dots looks the same. Some levels limit which gates you may use. The gate count is shown, and par is the smallest number of gates that can solve the level. Reach par for three stars, one over par for two, and any solution for one. Every par was checked by an exhaustive search of all shorter circuits, so it really is the minimum.
What the levels teach
- Levels 1 to 3: single qubit gates, superposition and interference (level 3 uses only H and Z).
- Levels 4 to 7: two qubits, copying a bit with CNOT, entanglement and anti-correlation.
- Levels 8 to 10: three qubits, a specific bit string, the GHZ state and an equal superposition of all eight outcomes.
Progress is stored in your browser only, using local storage, and never sent anywhere. Share your result with the Copy my result button, and try the daily puzzle for a new challenge every day. New to qubits? Start with what is a qubit and the free circuit builder.

Run on real hardware: coming soon. The planned provider is IBM Quantum. It is not connected yet. Every result on this page comes from a simulator running in your browser, not from a quantum computer.
How it works: the simulator keeps the exact quantum state of the qubits as a list of complex numbers, applies each gate to it, and draws random samples from the resulting probabilities. The random numbers are ordinary pseudo random numbers from your browser, and a real device would add noise. No QNT, wallet or account is needed.
