005 Daily Quantum Puzzle
SimulatorOne new puzzle every day, the same for everyone. Match the grid in as few gates as you can.
Simulator running in your browser. Real hardware: coming soon (planned provider: IBM Quantum).
What's happening?
A new quantum circuit puzzle every day, the same for everyone: match the target grid of 100 runs using as few gates as possible, keep a streak and share your result. Simulator only, no account or token needed.
You will learn: Designing quantum circuits to hit a target distribution.
How the daily puzzle works
A new puzzle appears at midnight UTC and is the same for everyone. It is picked from a pool of 30 puzzles, and every par in the pool was proved to be the minimum possible number of gates by an exhaustive search of all shorter circuits. Build a circuit until your grid of 100 dots looks like the target. Reach par for three stars. Your result and daily streak are stored in your browser only, using local storage, and are never sent anywhere. Use Copy my result to share a line like "QNT Quantum Lab daily #12: 3 gates, par 3".
Tips
- A Spin the coin gate makes a coin 50/50, and a Link gate ties one coin to another.
- Read the Goal sentence above the circuit: it describes the target in plain words.
- Only the allowed gates appear in the palette. Fewer gates beat more gates.
- Warming up? Try the ten levels in Quantum puzzles, or experiment freely in the circuit builder.
The lamp order follows physics textbooks by default, with Coin A on the right, and you can switch it with the lamp order button. New to this? Start with what is a qubit.
Run on real hardware: coming soon. The planned provider is IBM Quantum. It is not connected yet. Every result on this page comes from a simulator running in your browser, not from a quantum computer.
How it works: the simulator keeps the exact quantum state of the qubits as a list of complex numbers, applies each gate to it, and draws random samples from the resulting probabilities. The random numbers are ordinary pseudo random numbers from your browser, and a real device would add noise. No QNT, wallet or account is needed.
